The best marketing advice I can share
Prior to setting up my own business in 2018 I worked in education. Specifically within PRU’s (Pupil Referral Units) and children most at risk of permanent exclusion. The first thing I learnt on day one is that students (especially those who need a lot of support) will tell you straight away if you are boring, full of BS or they don’t trust you. I had to adapt and deliver lessons that grabbed their attention and engaged them in the first few minutes of being in the classroom. Students needed to trust me and know I was a reliable teacher. Kids are the best and most honest critics.
Fast forward to today and I use the skills I’ve learnt in education in marketing every day. I listen to my clients, I understand what they need, I’m patient and I work with my clients to achieve their objectives.
If you ever want to make sure your marketing communications are working, try teaching or explaining it to a someone and get their honest feedback. You will soon know if your marketing message is working!
